 Become a SAFE Provider

SAFE Certified professionals need to earn a total of 20 Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) within the two year validity period of their certification through the following:
  • Show proof of a valid CPR/First-Aid Certification (2 CEU’s)
  • Attend SAFE-approved courses and workshops for the remaining 18 CEU’s.
  • Apply for certification renewal at expiry date with valid proof of the above CEU’s.

To apply as a SAFE CEU Provider, you need to show proof of the following:
  • Current certification from a reputable fitness-education organization
  • Previous experience in educating fitness professionals
  • Offering workshops in one or more of the following fields:
  • Group fitness training
  • Personal training
  • Step training
  • Martial Arts for fitness instructors
  • Post-rehabilitation exercise design and application
  • Senior fitness
  • Exercise sciences
  • Mind-Body awareness and exercise
  • Strength training
  • Nutrition and weight-management
  • Youth fitness
  • Pre-Natal/Post-Partum exercise
  • Exercise programming and design
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Adherence to the SAFE Code of Ethics
  • Approval of your “Provider Application” (Section 3 below).
